As high school graduation neared this past spring, Trevor Allen Jones of Virginia Beach looked forward to becoming a Marine. Yet a few days after he enlisted, he said, he got a call from a local modeling agent informing him that the venerable IMG Models wanted to sign him worldwide.

IMG Models manages the careers of top names like Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kate Moss, Alek Wek and Joan Smalls. Jones made his modeling debut during one of the New York Fashion Week menswear shows on July 11.

It happened so fast. Jones described the chain of events in an email exchange while on the way to a fashion shoot.

“I somehow graduated from Frank W. Cox High School in June. Not with honors or anything; life hit me pretty hard and school became less of a priority.”

Jones, who is originally from Ohio, is due to leave for boot camp this December.
