Re: “No Piersol, No Peace

I'm sorry to hear about "Sad's" experience with Carol, though I think it's an important topic that needs to be addressed. However the way that it was gone about was incorrect. If you are concerned about someones health due to drinking, the first solution is not then to immediately take their job away without consulting with the person the problem, which was not done. I am a full believer that if confronted with the issue Carol would have made the changes necessary to move forward as a strong leader for the theatre but she was not given that chance nor that respect.

In response to "Disappointed in Theater Community": you are most likely not an actor, or if you are you are a poor one because you obviously don't understand how people react. If you have ever had thought's of directing I would suggest that you burn those dreams because you are incapable of seeing how a story should play out. If you write, put down your pen because you have no concept of the human condition. in truth you should stay out of any capacity of Theatre or art, I would hate to accidentally run across any of your work.

Your misconceptions of the situation at hand are laughable. In no way shape or form is it Carol's intention to bring an end to the Firehouse Theater Project. In fact they are quite the opposite. The board of directors has cited "mismanagement" as a vague term pertaining to Carol's release, the past few days have come to prove that is true. Mismanagement from the board is apparent through all that has transgressed. Their handeling of the situation has been amateur at best. On the other hand Carol has lead a community into uniting, that is leadership. By calling for the boards resignation she is in fact saving the FTP from a disconnected group that does not have the original intentions of the theater in mind. In this one instance they have violated 3 out of 5 of their "Values" that they themselves adopted on January 11th, 2012. The two they did not violate pertained to performances and not their interaction with themselves or the public.

The current configuration of the board is incapable of running the Firehouse Theater Project in a way that respects the dreams and values under which it was founded. Carol Piersol, being a founding member, is capable of this and much more. Now that the board has shown they cannot even follow their own rules, they must resign. Their is no complete fix of this situation any other way. that is why Carol calling for their resignation is saving the theater not trying to tear it down.

Ain't a Saint,

Please don't be ignorant, that information can be found with a simple Google. It is amazing, when you put the smallest amount effort into thinking before you speak, what you can find. You have now proven for a second time that you have no idea what you are talking about. You base all of your posts on conjecture and assumptions. Please, I urge you, before you make make a larger fool out of yourself research this topic. Find documents and articles you can point to if you would like to support your opinion. I welcome a response that is well thought out and well supported because it will open up the forum to intelligent conversation instead of your half baked dribble.

Re: “No Piersol, No Peace

@aintasaint- it seems as though you are not someone who is truly knowledgable of the inter workings of this theatre or the theatre community as a whole. By your own admission you are relying on hear-say and rumors from "people you talk to" for your opinion and would rather state that as your evidence instead of hard facts. in looking at the Firehouse Theatre Project's Strategic Plan for 2012-2013 it outlines in Initiatives 1, 2 and 6 that they have had other plans to restructure and improve upon their management, none of them include an improper and an insulting release of the Artistic Director.

In addition if you are going to be crass, please do so adequately: The term is not "a LOT of BS" the term is "a LOAD of BS" giving the reader an image of a big heaping pile, it's much more effective that way. You're welcome.
