Twitter Ticker: Inside the Newsroom 

Known in part for his ongoing coverage of a notorious stray dog in the city's West End, known as Black Dog, at the Richmond Times-Dispatch, WTVR-TV 6 reporter Mark Holmberg was on the story last week when news spread of the mysterious mutt's death. Via the July 2 Twitter feed of CBS6:

10:58 a.m.: Mark Holmberg is checking on reports that the elusive “Black Dog” is dead in Richmond's West End.

1:57 p.m.: Holmberg is back after seeing Black Dog's body. He's wearing a Black Dog [T-shirt] he madesold back in 2002-03. http://twitpic.com/926oe

2:56 p.m.: Holmberg says Black Dog is now lying in state over in Windsor Farms. Friends of Black Dog gathering this afternoon. Rural burial later 2day.
