We asked Jessica Simmons of River City Tattoo what readers who are thinking about getting their nether regions pierced need to know before a professional starts poking holes.
1. No sexual contact or swimming for at least three weeks.
2. No loofah sponges in the shower — they can become a tangled mess!
3. Genital piercing can increase, um, sensitivity. But it's sort of like getting braces: At first they're new and you know that they're there, but in time your mouth gets used to them and they aren't as noticeable.
