Tommy Emmanuel at CenterStage

Friday, June 25

It's a tad disgusting just how gifted composer Tommy Emmanuel is on the guitar. A true technical savant, this Australia-based musician has established himself as the heir apparent to Chet Atkins' syncopated finger-picking compositions. Not dissimilar to how a pianist stretches along each key, using all 10 digits at once, Emmanuel's virtuosic knowledge of country, jazz, classical, blues and rock is beautifully absurd on both electric and acoustic instruments. Capable of delicate melodies and nimbly shredded runs within a single song, Emmanuel brings his award-winning talent to Richmond CenterStage on Friday, June 25, at 8 p.m. Ticket sales benefit CultureWorks grants. $28.
