Large Charlottesville festival starts next week.

Starting Monday on Thomas Jefferson’s birthday, more than 400 start-ups, bands, artists and chefs will takeover downtown Charlottesville for a week as part of the Tom Tom Founders Festival (April 13-19).

On tap there are nearly 60 events in 36 venues over the week and New Belgium Brewery will be sponsoring the block parties. Below are some highlights from the week according to the group’s recent news release:

The Founders Summit

A day of talks about creativity and entrepreneurship from founders of organizations with national and global impact. The individuals who launched Reddit, Lockn’ Music Festival, Gizmodo, the Container Store and the Maker Movement will be speaking at he Paramount Theater on Friday, April 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a two-hour break for industry-specific luncheons. Farm-to-Table Restaurant Week

A guided tour through the tastes of Charlottesville with eleven of the town’s best chefs. Participating restaurants – including Mas Tapas, Brookville, Hamiltons’, and the Ivy Inn – will spotlight local ingredients through prix fixe menus and special dishes, April 13 through 19.

Six Block Parties

Tom Tom returns with six of its signature free, outdoor parties in downtown Charlottesville, featuring craft beer, live music, kids activities, and local food trucks:

Jazzfest Block Party outside Fellini’s No. 9 on Second Street
