Toddies, Spiked Coffees and More

Hot Stuff

My first hot, alcoholic drink was an Irish Coffee. It seemed to have everything going for it: it was fancy and sweet, rimmed with sugar, topped with whipped cream and was simultaneously relaxing and invigorating. Hot drinks are especially enjoyable this time of year, especially if you've spent a day on the slopes or simply want something warm to sip with a good book by the fire. Here are some recipes for classics, but look for original drinks created by the bartenders at your favorite bar or ski resort. All recipes below make one serving. Irish Coffee
sugar, for rimming the mug
* cup Irish whiskey
1 teaspoon sugar
* cup hot, strong coffee
