Titled This Must Be The Place and consisting of all new work from the last year, Crane’s paintings exist in a liminal space saturated with an emergence of unstable and unspecified forms. Upon viewing these works a strange interplay of humor, fright, and intrigue settles in. It’s as if we are being invited to look at these as though we were glancing out of the corner of our eye and compelled to remain in that orientation of viewing longer than a mere glance so as to glimpse something “unseeable."
