The Virginia Boat Club's Learn-to-Row

When: Mondays, Wednesdays, 6-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 7:30-9 p.m. Continues through May 20 2017
The Virginia Boat Club's Learn-to-Row program teaches adults how to sweep row in shells: four- or eight-person boats with coxswains. In the class, students will learn the proper rowing technique, as well as parts of the stroke, blade technique, rowing terminology and boat safety. Bring drinking water to each session to stay hydrated. Form-fitting clothing is best, since baggy clothing can get caught in the sliding seats while rowing. Also wear athletic shoes and sports socks.
