Historian and author John Maass will kick off a series of Revolutionary War bus tours with a talk on his new book "The Road to Yorktown: Jefferson, Lafayette and the British Invasion of Virginia" on April 21 at 7 p.m. Maass is a historian at the U.S. Army Center of Military History in Washington. He received a doctorate in early U.S. history from the Ohio State University. He was an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1987 to 1992. He also wrote "North Carolina and the French and Indian War: the Spreading Flames of War" and "Defending a New Nation, 1783-1811."
