The Richmond Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will host an Education Conference at Ebenezer Baptist Church, the site of Richmond’s first school for African American children, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 20. Conference sessions will include how families, communities, and a wide-range of collaborators and partners can do their part to prepare children for school, promote academic achievement, and reduce problem behaviors. The conference will open with a reading selection from the Richmond Public School’s Summer Reading list that will be read by five –year old Paige Freeman.
