“The Music Man” at the November Theatre

Friday, June 28, through Aug. 4.

Featuring favorite tunes such as “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Ya Got Trouble” and “Goodnight My Someone,” “The Music Man” is the perfect all-American summer musical. The story revolves around Harold Hill (Larry Cook) and his attempts to con the naive townsfolk of River City, Iowa, and strike up an unlikely courtship with librarian Marian Paroo. The original Broadway hit in 1957 won five Tony awards, including best musical. During this run, Saturday evening performances will feature walk-on cameo appearances by some of Richmond’s favorite celebrities. “The Music Man” opens at the November Theatre on Friday, June 28, and runs through Aug. 4. $30-$60. va-rep.org.
