Not everyone feels like jingling this time of year. Festive decor and incessant holiday tunes can aggravate feelings of loss and regret, leaving some of us in a blue Christmas funk. There's a remedy at the Capital Ale House, and this one's not behind the bar. The Michael Clark Band featuring Tracy Clark has a briefcase of songs that's sure to shake the bahs out of holiday humbugs. The husband-and-wife duo has been playing for more than 12 years and recently won a local blues competition, propelling the group to the International Blues Challenge next year. The group offers jazz-tinged blues with a professional polish that will sweep away the sorrow. If you need a seasonal lift that you can't get from eggnog or an animated fable, The Michael Clark Band performs at Capital Ale House Thursday, Dec. 21, at 5 p.m. Free. 780-ALES.
