The Great Video Game Hangout 2018
:00 PM – Richmond Famous ($10)
The Coalition’s all-improvised show series, Richmond Famous, features live and totally unscripted comedy, created on the spot and inspired by the true stories of some of RVA’s most interesting people. This month it’s the 2018 Video Game Hangout featuring storytellers from RVA Game Jams and Bits+Pixels!
RVA Game Jams is a community project created in 2012 to get video game developers and enthusiasts from the Richmond area together to participate in game jams, learn about developing games, and more! They’re interested in exploring games as a form of art, communication and entertainment. RVA Game Jams aims to support and develop the creative, tech-savvy game development community in the Richmond area and beyond!
Bits+Pixels, located in Carytown, is an independently-owned, RVA video game store, specializing in retro & used video games and consoles as well as hosting special video game events throughout the year!
10:00 PM – The Hangout (Free!)
Join members of the Coalition Theater for an informal night of gaming madness: compete against others, play for fun, or bring your own! Stations throughout the theater will feature a wide variety of games – social, competitive, video, and tabletop – for your playing enjoyment. Players are also welcome to bring their own handheld systems to make new friends or pull together some on-site tournament play. This event is free, and the theater bar will be open. Game on!
