Based in Ohio, the Dreadful Yawns mix '50s rock, country, folk, psychedelic and that mellow, mellow shoe gaze sound. Debuting in 2003 with “Early,” the band has reinvented itself over and over in that time, evolving its sound without losing identity or focus. The band is known for playing physically close to one another, layering themselves just like their music. The five-piece is currently on the “Good News Tour” and is promoting newly recorded material and past favorites Friday, Feb 6, at Plaza Bowl at 8 p.m. with the Young Sinclairs. 233-8799.
