The Challenger

Children's book author Lois Lowry talks about big ideas for little people.

Lowry comes to the University of Richmond March 15 to talk about "How Everything Turns Away." Her themes of community and art and the role of memory in society are provocative for big kids as well as little ones, and if they're troubling enough to land her work on challenged-book lists nationwide, maybe it's because they are a little too scary for those big kids who'd rather see the world through a network's lens. The talk starts at 7:30 p.m. and is free. 289-8980. — Brandon Reynolds
