I know what most of you are thinking: I need more opera and theater in my life. Well, your quiet desperation is about to come to a joyous end. The Castleton Festival an extravaganza of music, theater and opera by budding artistic talents, concludes this weekend in two state-of-the-art theaters built on the grounds of Maestro Lorin Maazel’s Virginia home, Castleton Farms in Castleton, a two-hour drive north of Richmond, just past Culpeper. Featured works include a full production of Verdi’s “Otello,” a symphonic concert of music composed by Benjamin Britten and Peter Tchaikovsky and recitals of various opera scenes by participants in the Castleton Artists Training Seminar. Show times and ticket prices at castletonfestival.org.
