Re: “Richmond Tech Chief Rebecca Hough: Paris Climate Deal Helps All

Easy, folks! The electric car may actually SAVE the coal industry, and provide a foundation for the nuclear industry, so we don't squander all our fracking natural gas on electricity production. Ms. Hough has performed the remarkable feat of eliminating a significant impediment in the use of an EV, that of standing in a puddle of water while hooking up or disconnecting a high voltage cable to charge one's vehicle! And, she has with great skill and humility, convinced major players (albeit, government sponsored experimenters; that is, taxpayer subsidized experimenters) to use her technology in an innovative, reliable and safe new way. She is a trailblazer, and should be credited as such. (By the way, I agree with many of your remarks--just not the way you hold this true innovator responsible for out-of-control governments and U.N. Some day, if we hold those who profess an ideology as scientific fact, to be accountable, we may find the truth in all the agendas being promoted in the name of science and good citizenship. Curious, I once calculated how the diameter of the Earth would change if ALL the glaciers melted and the water ran into the sea--and it doesn't sink Norfolk--they have a meteor crater problem, not a global warming problem!) Kudos to Ms. Hough, Evatran and Plugless Power! And I hope the heavy hand of government can be refocused on the things governments should do and not the things better handled by commerce, markets, consumers, employers and the employed. Did you see the recent signs 'We VOTED for $15 an hour!'? That's like saying 'We VOTED for dinner!', or 'We VOTED for healthcare!', or 'We VOTED for free education!' Who the heck do they think will pay for this? 'The rich' don't have enough money to satisfy the unrealistic demands of the many, those who haven't earned their way to freedom! It will be a harsh reality when they discover that THEY will! They will be taxed for the VALUE of all the MONEY and DEBT that will be incurred in satisfying THEIR VOTE! Our voters have elected those who have spent us into oblivion! Educated idiots; but dumb beyond belief! They speak well and write well, but have no common sense and are 'too smart' to see the mess they are making of their future. It will have far more impact on their lives than Global Warming or Climate Change. 3.5 degrees? Really? We've been cooling off for the past 20 years and may well be entering that mini-Ice Age that worried us so much in the 60's! The sky is falling! The sky is falling! No, that's just a bird lightening it's load for the climb to cruise! The sky is doing what it has always done, water our crops and protect us from radiation, not to mention the O2 the animals breathe and the CO2 the plants breathe! CO2 is not pollution, it's plant food!
