Graze Anatomy
Europa Mediterranean Cafe and Tapas Bar: Organic wine-tasting dinner July 16, 7 p.m. This four-course meal with pairings is $40 and includes house-cured halibut, braised grouper cheeks, roulade of stewed lamb, cheeses and more. Reservations required. 1409 E. Cary St. www.europarichmond.com. Call 643-0911 or e-mail josh.europa@comcast.net.ÿ
Infuzion: The lounge, club and ice bar adds another dimension: lunch, starting next week, Tuesdays-Fridays, with a jazz pianist and a sense of humor. Look for salads such as the Popeye and Ides of March, skewers, wraps and sandwiches such as Bovine Intervention, sweet potato fries on the side and desserts. 1401 Roseneath Road. 249-2665. www.infuzionlounge.com.
821 Cafe: Some of the city's best pancakes move next door this fall, when the VCU-area cafA^ shifts slightly westward to the corner of Cherry and Cary streets, where its mural has been painted for years. For now it's still serving breakfast, lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday at the usual place, with raves from national hipster press for the vegetarian menu, all-day breakfast menu and beer selection. 649-1042. www.821caferva.com.ÿ
Tastebuds: Also staying within a coin toss of its current location, this tiny favorite gets a larger space in the next month or so at the former Sammy's Bakery, 4019 MacArthur Ave. "Our food has been very well-received," chef-owner Andrew Wisniewski says, "and we want to make it more accessible, with a wider price range. And we're still committed to making everything ourselves." Seating for 36, a small beer and wine bar, and a few changes to the take-out program are in the works. A new Web site, www.tastebudsamericanbistro.com, gives details.ÿ
The White Dog Restaurant: This month, owners Barry and Roslyn Pruitt donate 10 percent of all food sales to the Richmond SPCA in memory of Max, their beloved pet and namesake for the restaurant, who died in March. 2329 W. Main St. 340-1975.
