A free street festival now in its 16th year, Shamrock the Block is on Arthur Ashe Boulevard between Leigh and Broad streets. Besides the main draw — loads of beer and food, of course — this year’s musical acts include an AC/DC tribute act, For Those About to Rock, Weekend Plans and Redneck Pool Party. Attendance has grown to more than 40,000 people, so consider biking or walking. Pets should be leashed. Free to attend, ATMs on site. Noon to 6 p.m. Rain or shine. shamrocktheblock.com.
