Re: “Best Fresh Seafood Restaurant

I'll leave the rest of the previous comment alone, but I've gotta chime in on the Lowery's suggestion. Are you kidding?? Lowery's has it's place in the seafood business, just like Bill's had it's place in the BBQ business. They mostly cater to an older local crowd who are set in their taste for middle-of-the-road fried seafood and a chance to see other friends there of the same tastes. It's more about the fact that there is no other place in the river town of Tappahannock to get decent dine-in seafood at all. I'd actually consider Lowery's to be more of a comfort food establishment, so as not to be overly offensive. There is a buffet after all, with plenty of good, southern style favorites. Just dont go there looking for high quality seafood that isn't traditionally fried, because that's all of the seafood they offer. In my opinion, the seafood itself at Lowery's is not even remotely close to what I would consider to be of a higher caliber.. a few of which DO exist in RVA! :)
