Re: “Virginia Lawmakers Considering Airbnb Bill With $10,000 Fine for Illegal Renting

Like I've always said. There are those who would never dream of staying in a strangers home and there are those who would never dream of hosting strangers. I don't believe for one second that my offering a room in my home takes business away from "real" airbnb's. We had people screaming at town hall meetings that we'd be hosting Ted Bundy or ISIS terrorists. Our friends ran airbnb for 4 years and never had a complaint of any sort. Their next door neighbor found out and made it her life's mission to shut it down. She was successful. Ultimately they were the only ones to suffer from the experience, otherwise nothing changed in the neighborhood. Anyone who has used airbnb are sold on its inclusive nature and affordability. The fact is I can fill my home with transients and nobody can say a thing. I just can't charge them to stay. Just like "real" bnb's nobody is going to stay in my home if the reviews are poor.
