Stand-up comedian, writer and producer Sara Schaefer was raised in Richmond and attended the College of William and Mary. After graduation she took her comedic talent to New York, catching the eyes of the New York Post, Backstage and VH1’s “Best Week Ever.” Most recently she was the head blogger for “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” for which she twice won Emmy Awards for creative achievement in interactive media and a Webby Award. Since early 2011, Schaefer has been host of a podcast with comedian Nikki Glaser called “You Had to Be There,” and the two are producing a comedy pilot for MTV. She returns to Richmond for one night only, bringing Scott Moran for a night of stand-up. Sara Schaefer performs at Gallery5 on Thursday, June 14, at 8 p.m. $10-$12. 644-0005.
