Vexine

Andrew Cothern may not play music, but he contributes to Richmond’s ever-expanding and intensely varied collection of harmony hustlers through his writing. The former Style Weekly calendar editor’s easy-to-love music blog, RVA Playlist, celebrates four years of local music-championing with a show featuring some of his favorite homegrown melody makers. The shindig includes the pure pop pleasure of the Trillions, the meditative post-folk psychedelia of My Darling Fury and the soulful blues rock of Vexine. Need more reason to go out on a school night? The free show will also have cake, prizes and surprises. Doors open at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at the Camel. Free. thecamel.org.
