Re: “The Persistence of Memory

I worked at the Clover Room in HS.
We lived in the 4800 block of Chanberlayne Ave.
It was a hopping place where all the teenagers went after a movie date, school dance, party, or family gathering.
Looking back, it was a lot of fun working for Mr. Hull.
Even as a very small child, my favorite place was Willey's Drugstore.
Complete with the drugstore cowboys who would hang around out front and watch all the "action", then sit at the counter and order a 7 cent pepsi.
Johnson's 5 and Dime, Sarah Lee Bakery, the barber shop where I got haircuts, were all in a row down Bellevue Ave.
So many memories from so long ago.
Many of the old "northsiders" are now on FB.
