Spring has meant death and rebirth for . Su Casa reopened April 18 after being closed a month and a half due to a small fire. Customers were relieved about the reopening, apparently. They swamped the Mexican restaurant on its first day back in business and snaked a line around the building during the high point of the midday rush.

"Oh, packed over here," owner Ulysses Avgeros remembers later that day. He opened the little house on Broad Street five years ago.

Since then, Su Casa has served a steady stream of burritos, enchiladas and baklava to hungry Richmonders. Baklava? Yes, Avgeros and his family are Greek Americans, and though Su Casa specializes in authentic Mexican, his wife makes the baklava, spanikopita and other occasional Greek specials for the restaurant. 4013 W. Spring also means fine cigars and wine, at least this week over at and . Buckhead's is giving a cigar smoker and dinner Monday, April 30. All the usual suspects are involved: fine cigars (Punch Punchito and Nat Sherman Nautilus), single-malt liquors and enough food to stuff a bull elephant. $125. 750-2000.

This Tuesday, April 24, hang out on the Havana '59 rooftop with a glass of Fetzer wine and the California winemaker himself; John White, who will lead everyone in a wine-tasting session from 5-7 p.m. $12.
