Re: “Post Quake, Nuke Plant Faces Hurdles

Dozens of organizations in dozens of North American cities are rallying October 1st to protest nuclear power and oppose the rubber stamp relicensing by the NRC of old and tired nuclear power plant. The Indian Point nuclear power, one of the oldest, and thought by many one of the most dangerous with the worse safety record, is just 30 miles from the heart of the fashion district. You'd think all these fashionista would for one minute give up their disco lifestyle and come out to support anti-nuclear activists, before Manhattan ends up like Pompei after Vesuvius erupted. Go to the Rock The Reactors website to see and read how the fashion industry is already lending support to all the Tri-State area anti-nuclear groups in their effort to decommission the plant. Support Riverkeeper which is the leading organization and has the lawyers to make sure the NRC cannot, will not renew the Indian Point license.
