Remembering the Great War: Immigrants

When: Sun., May 6, 2-3:30 p.m. 2018
Price: Free.
Join us as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of World War I, the Great War. During World War I, there were hundreds of thousands of foreign-born soldiers serving in the U.S. military. Many of these men were not citizens of the U.S. and could not speak or understand English. Yet, they combined with native-born American soldiers to become part of the effective fighting force known as the American Expeditionary Forces. Listen to historian Al Barnes, as he recounts the little-known story of America’s diverse military 100 years ago.
