ReachCycles, at reachcycles.org, holds an event at the ARCpark in Richmond on Sunday, April 8, from 2-4 p.m. to present 14 specially adapted three-wheeled cycles, called AmTrykes. The area children with disabilities who have been selected by the groups based on desire and need. Back up rain location will be at Sportable. Each of the children will be presented and given a final fitting by certified therapists along with VCU student therapist volunteers for their donated AmTryke. The event is free and open to the public. We encourage families with disabled or special needs children to attend so they can see various adapted bike models and receive resources on how to apply for a donated bike. If funding support is needed, riders may be placed on the REACHcycles “wish list” to receive their own adapted cycles.
