I'm familiar with this area of Marshall Street. There are barbed wire fences and mostly run-down buildings. A high quality development project would definately be a huge improvement in this area. I would also think that because VCU students are moving into existing Carver row houses, that the apartment building would actually free up homes for non-students. At some point people need to stop saying 'no' as a knee jerk reaction and understand that a quality project can actually enhance a neighborhood. When I go to the Siegle Center I'm afraid to park in the Carver section near Marshall. If there's any area that needs fixing up - this would be it.
