Printing Puzzles

Engraved invitations are the most traditional and formal of all, but that means they are usually the most expensive. To engrave your invitations, paper is pressed onto a metal plate, causing the letters to be slightly raised on the paper.

Thermography is a newer printing process that has quickly become a popular choice for today's weddings. This process fuses ink and powder together on the paper to create raised letters that resemble engraving. Because no plates have to be made, the process is quicker - and cheaper - than engraving.

Offset printing uses a standard printing process where the ink is flat on the paper. This is a less formal look, but allows for a great deal of creativity because there are many ink colors and type types available. This is the least expensive way to print your invitations.

Handwritten or Computer Calligraphy is an elegant italic script. You can pay someone to handwrite using calligraphy - still the most beautiful option — or you can check with local stationary stores about computer calligraphy. These machines create a perfect script each time, which means invitations can easily be done also.
