Lifelong Learning through the Shepherd's Center open university offers opportunities for intellectual challenge and social interaction. Three eight-week terms a year feature well-qualified instructors in foreign languages, literature, history, political science, art, music, philosophy, Feldenkrais and yoga. Instructors include both active and retired professors from area universities, as well as local professionals and celebrities. The open university is one of the best bargains for quality lifelong learning in the area. The $40 member rate covers the eight weeks of classes. Membership is only $25 for the year.
