You want to party like it's 1969 …

Check out the tie-dyed Grateful Dead tribute, care of King Solomon's Marbles at 10 p.m. Tickets are $15 (353-7445). Afterward, visit the corner store for Cheetos and have a conversation about how, like, amazing the human hand is.

You want to give vent to sexual desires in a healthy way ...

Watch pretty ladies slink around and sing in jail in the musical "Chicago" at the Landmark Theater at 2 or 8 p.m. Tickets are $39.50-$49.50 (262-8100 or at www.ticketmaster.com). After the show, burn off some of that energy with Brazilian jazz band Sambaiosis at Bogart's Back Room at 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 (353-9280).

You like to think while you drink …

Ravenchase Adventures sends players around Richmond in a citywide scavenger hunt with mysteries to unlock, helping you end the year feeling slightly more confused than when it started. The clues lead to a bottle of champagne at a bar somewhere in the city. The chase begins at 8 p.m. Cost is $40 (218-0551 or www.ravenchase.com).

You want to celebrate family-style …

The Children's Museum is up all day, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m., with Seymour the Dinosaur and projects for kids, including making hats for a parade. The Ululating Mummies perform 1-3 p.m. Admission is $7 (474-2667). Then pack up the kids and head to ComedySportz for good-natured improv and a Twinkie Toast at 4 p.m., 7:30 p.m. or 10 p.m. Tickets are $7, $16 and $22 (266-9377). For more fun with people dressed as monsters, take the family to visit GWAR (see above). Or
