Re: “Confederate Chapel to Get Trippy Makeover During InLight

The Chapel was consecrated in 1887, and has never been de-consecrated. It remains a place of worship today. During the many years of their lease, the Lee-Jackson Camp took great pains to see that all events held in the chapel recognized that fact. In fact, their own meetings were held elsewhere, so as to preserve the chapel as a place of worship. It is listed in both the National Historic Register and the Virginia Historic Register, and the memorial sign next to the building in the picture rightly declares this as a War Memorial. It is beyond belief that VMFA would condone the actions they have planned. I will not be renewing my Museum membership, and I am removing them as a beneficiary in my estate.
