If you’ve never been able to get “Super Bon Bon” out of your head, go see what Mike Doughty has been up to since 1992. Best known as the frontman of the avant-garde group Soul Coughing, singer and songwriter Doughty has made a name for himself as a solo musician with his beatnik lyrics and elements of hip-hop and acoustic pop. After a string of popular albums, 2012 saw the release of “The Question Jar Show,” featuring live acoustic recordings, and “The Lo-Fi Lodge,” a subscription-only collection sent to fans one song at a time. Mike Doughty performs at Capital Ale House on Tuesday, July 17, at 8 p.m. $15-$18. 780-2537.
