Re: “Wheels Turning

I would be in support of more bike lanes in general in conjunction with public awareness of cyclists and their rights on the road, and not necessarily a "bicycle boulevard." I live in Randolph, ride my bike to the Northside everyday for work. I utilize both Meadow/Hermitage as well as the Boulevard. Both of these roads have "sharrows" on them, yet I get honked at, yelled at to get on the sidewalk, and not given the appropriate passing leeway of three feet. What is the point of even putting the signs on the road if none of it is being enforced and motorists are not being educated? As for cyclists being charged for utilizing the "bike/walk" street-- take a hike! My husband and I share a car which is why I ride my bike to work, so yes, I pay taxes on my car as well as the house I own. Moreover, what are you going to do?-require all Richmond City residents to carry (why not implant!??) a RFID chip to appropriately monetarily penalize cyclists and pedestrians.
