Re: “After These Messages”
Good article excited about the efforts of our Muslim youth. We must know our history though! To the author of the article, the first Mosque or Masjid in the Richmond Metro area was Masjid Bilal on Chimborazo in Church Hill. And many of those Muslims, some now passed away, contributed to building The Islamic Center too. We refer to them as pioneers of Al Islam in America. Style Magazine did an expose' on the first Muslims in Richmond in the 90's featuring the work that Muslim men from that mosque were doing to protect neighborhoods from crime and other efforts. These are the people whom shoulders we stand on today, given to us by Allah (God). "Which of the blessings of your Lord will you deny"?
