We were living on Rugby Road when our children, Chris, Catherine and Jeff, were born, just a couple of houses away from Leila and Benny Haddad, who would become their close childhood friends. We lived there from 1975 until 1988 when we moved and sold our home to friends Pat and Glen Van Tuyle who met on a blind date in our kitchen.
I would be remiss if I did not mention our back door neighbors, long time Carillon residents (mid 1920s until their deaths around 1990), Ruth and Basil Jones. Dr. Jones was in the first graduating class of Pediatrics from MCV and said that most of his salary during his first few years of Depression era practice was in the form of pies, cookies and pot roasts.
