Re: “Romney’s Caterer

I'm not surprised by David Napier's comments. After all, he was opposed to the City's bus hub being located at Main St. Station because, as he put it in the pages of Style Weekly itself, he thinks people who ride public transportation are poor, criminal types unlikely or unable to spend money in the Bottom, and would just mess up the place.

I'm not sure if his comments are reflective of willing obtuseness to fit his own views, ignorance of what the President ACTUALLY said in context (as opposed to the ridiculous Romney sound bite), or just plain stupidity. In any case, Mr. Napier has once again done himself no favors; last eveni g, a friend, reading his interview aloud at restaurant where a few of us had met, was greeted with laughter and a lively conversation including another table of strangers about how Napier once again appeared simultaneously self-aggrandizing and ignorant.

Additionally, and significantly, Napier owes a great part of his business success to his original investor from his David's White House days. Indeed, if he were being totally honest, Mr. Napier would have to admit he CERTAINLY did not build his business alone.
