As Union forces led by General George B. McClellan retreated from Richmond in late June 1862, Confederate General Robert E. Lee laid out plans to intercept and destroy McClellan’s army. Doug Crenshaw, author of the recently published book The Battle of Glendale: Robert E. Lee’s Lost Opportunity, will describe the harrowing battle that ensued on June 30, 1862 and explain how this fight turned into a lost opportunity for the Confederacy.
