Re: “Safety Town bites the dust.

I lived on Westbrook Avenue across from Azalea Mall around that time and would often walk with our children to the mall for many events there. If I can recall they participated in that program. It is sad to hear that such a valuable safety program and nice mall are no longer in existence. I often whopped at Woolco in that mall and purchased an inexpensive planter marked McCoy that is now considered a sought after collectibles. Am so sorry to hear of it's demise. We left Richmond in 1971. We enjoyed the beautiful city and friendly people.

Re: “Safety Town bites the dust.

I lived in Richmond on Westbrook Avenue across from Azalea Mall at the time when this took place. We enjoyed the Mall could walk there and often took the children to many events there. I seem to recall and believe they participated in the program. It's sad to hear that a nice mall and a valuable safety program for children is no longer in existence. I remember shopping at Woolcos and buying an inexpensive planter there that is marked McCoy pottery that is now a desireable collectors piece. Sorry to hear of the demise of that one great mall.
