Letter: This Public Art Got Private Funds 

Please note that the statue “Thomas Jefferson: Architect of Liberty” at the State Capitol was funded fully with private funds raised by the Virginia Capitol Foundation from three very generous, philanthropic Virginia families — the Farrells, the Goodwins and the Halseys. No public funds were used for this public installation.
