Re: “Over Our Heads

How soon before we are debating if a citizen is constituionally guaranteed the right to own and operate drones. Remote controlled toy planes, helicopters, and boats are now readily available for the hobbyist. With a small cell phone to function as both a camera and a detonator, these toys are not too far from becoming weapons. Should our government turns its drones on citizens here, the hard core types will acquire drones of their own. The main concern here should be that the government has been reducing the citizens' constitutional guaranteed rights. That illegal encroachment is the type of government abuse that the founding fathers feared and which complled them to explicitly perpetuate the citizens rights to arm themselves. If we want to help end the escalation of madness, let's start by the government fully eturning, supporting, and defending all of our constitutional rights.

Re: “Go Richmond! Mayor Touts Tier-One Sports

Oh no, now the residents are saying there is no parking in Shockoe Bottom. http://wtvr.com/2013/02/14/shockoe-bottom-…

By the way, Paul, I agree there are measures that can be taken to help alleviate traffic congestion when large events end, but would it not be better to take enough time in planning and analysis to minimize the problems through design rather than sending out a special detail every time there is an event?

Re: “Fuzzy Reception

Cole, my point is made by Gray's - I more or less ended up where I began statement. Obama's performance was a major topic in the debate which made it clear he has not proven himself capable. Romney on the other hand softened his image. I'm not assuming anything, just taking the man at his words and deploring some of the sensationalism he used to vilify Romney. That was far from fair treatment, which to me reeks of bias.

Re: “Mayor Unleashes Preacher

"Let Go of the Mediocrity" should be the slogan for any and all candidates who run against Jones in the next mayoral election. Richmond needs a lot more progress and a whole lot less pompous.

Re: “Stamped Out

It seems 23220 the Post Office station for the Fan, Byrd Park, etc. is also being looked at for closing. If it does, it would be helpful to keep 23220 as a valid postal code and routing that mail to an adjacent post office like 23221. I am not liking the prospect of all my labels, checks, and stationery becoming inaccurate. I am sure thousands of other people feel the same way.
