Re: “Taken by Force

As a former ER nurse, I dealt with police officers on a regular basis. I also dealt with those they brought to the ER. It left me with one over-riding impression - there's good and bad in the world. The police (for the most part) are the good guys. And then there's what I refer to as the "scum of the earth". The good guys are severely outnumbered by the scum. And they have no idea when they respond who they are dealing with. Sure, the wife knew he was no threat, but the officers have no idea - just because he hasn't been before, doesn't mean he isn't dangerous this time. The problem here, as I can see, is the wife. Repeated domestic violence calls mean he or she should no longer be living in that residence together. And if not for the "overkill", how many other officers would have been killed? What is the acceptable number? ZERO is the acceptable number! It all goes back to "if you're a law-abiding member of society, you have nothing to fear" and "if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. " Thank you, Lt. Morely, for being part of the solution in our fair city for 32+ years!
