Are all cops bastards? That’s just plain silly. Are there policemen who overstep the boundaries of law and order? Duh. Like any other job, there are bastards lurking among the ranks. Problem is, where most forms of employment have unsavory types, bastard cops are a particularly virulent form because their reach extends to everybody else’s lives. It’s these contemptible few that are the subject of Insurgent Theatre’s new show, “Know Your Enemy.” Written and performed by Ben Turk, the Kate Pleuss-directed play examines the life of a man in blue struggling with the possibility that he himself may be … long dramatic pause … a bastard. The play has its only area performance Saturday at the Wingnut Anarchist Collective, 2005 Barton Ave. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is free with donations encouraged. wingnutrva.org.
