Re: “Gratitude Owed to Departing Founder

Excellent commentary, Mr. Spiro!! I agree whole heartedly with your observation! But do MANY!!! To the tune of nearly a thousand people strong, the "Jay Must Stay" page on FaceBook, Along with all local media coverage, is an ongoing effort to wake up the Board of Directors, of The VA Holocaust Museum. We believe the decision to remove Jay Ipson from the museum is a mistake and a bad decision. But, we believe to remove him in the disgraceful way they have, is an error of catastrophic proportions, on their part. And, we will continue to grow and push, untill the Board of Directors and Chairman Marcus Weinstein hear us, and correct their "error." The Board of Directors must be held accountable for their actions. And we will continue to rally around Jay Ipson, in growing numbers, to let them know we are HOLDING them accountable.

Re: “Founder Leaving Holocaust Museum

To be perfectly candid, and not in the least politically correct.....the VA Holocaust Museum WITHOUT Jay Ipson, is the equivalent of a train with no tracks. And, while I'm fully aware that there were millions of Jews, who suffered greatly or were murdered by the hands of Hitler and his ilk, the Ipp family's story of oppression, strength and the instinctive spirit of human survival, is woven throughout every inch of the building that houses that AMAZING collection of artifacts, replicas and memorabilia.

How ANYONE could even imagine OUSTING Jay Ipson from his WELL PERFORMED simply incomprehensible!! Mr. Weinstein.....please rethink your actions!! Because, I've BEEN in the museum when Mr. Ipson was giving a tour. And, I've SEEN the faces of young people, who had the blessing of meeting Mr. Ipson, who opened his heart full of painful memories, to answer ANY question those young people asked of him. I've WATCHED those young people process what they learned from the tour and Mr. Ipson.....and then walk away with an eye opening prospective, they didn't have when they arrived earlier that day.

I would ask Mr. Weinstein THIS QUESTION: Was this YOUR story to tell?? Because, it certainly WAS and IS........the Ipson's story, and he's been telling it (as he should) to ALL who would listen. And, I should think that in a time when our freedom is being whittled away piece by would welcome any opportunity to "tell the story" SOMEONE WHO LIVED IT!!!! Experience is the heart of learning. And, by REMOVING Jay're removing the heart of the Virginia Holocast Museum. Without Mr. Ipson, you'll still have a building full of exhibits........but, without a heart, all of the other organs perish.
