I also was in attendance at the event. There were three of
us who came from the Indianapolis Indiana area. I had over
twenty ancestors who fought for the Confederacy from Georgia. Not one of them owned slaves and to make the argument that they fought and died so the man down the road could own slaves is insulting to their memory to say the least.
As the speeches were winding down I turned to find a restroom when this man about ran me down walking into the crowd caring his cardboard sign saying something about thank you rebel tratiors. I thought this odd because if he wanted to protest the gathering why did'nt he stand on the sidewalk and not push his way into the middle. Of course we all know why that way he can cause a stir and get his name in the papers. LOOKS LIKE IT WORKED.
