Re: “Opinion: How Redskins Football Pushed Richmond's Schools to the Breaking Point

Many don't know that, that particular piece of property was under consideration for a new aviation museum years ago. Some how that idea thrown away. The nice park like atmosphere that existed before the camp was bulldozed down. Promises were made to keep the trees. They ended up in the landfill. Besides the neighborhood park the only other thing that property yielded was a dead body (victims of murder) or two over the last 25 years.

Face it everyone, city leaders suck at doing their job. Will it ever end?

Re: “6 Takeaways from Sturtevant's Senate Victory

City residents didn't do too bad supporting Glen either. Look at the numbers and the neighborhoods. As for Medicaid expansion there must be a meeting lace somewhere. If we don't do something now, we will still have to pay for it, one way or the other.

Re: “The 13 Most Haunted Places in Richmond

The Jefferson is definitely haunted. During the renovations in the early 80's several off duty police officers worked security there over night watching the building. There were a huge set of doors off the Main Street entrance that were secure the upstairs part of the building. Several times when Ricky Duling was working there were many unexplained noises, shaking and rattling of those doors. Once the hotel open there were also many unexplained occurrences. I was taught to respect the dearly departed and that was exactly what I did.

Re: “Richmond Is Now An Asthma Capital and Doctors Say Schools Are Part of the Problem

Back in the 90's I personally surveyed each city school, for use as an emergency shelter in the event of a disaster. Due to the conditions of the schools then, they were all passed over for use as an emergency shelter. Instead we went with the Coliseum, Richmond, Center and the Arthur Ashe facility. FYI, in the surrounding counties 99% of the shelters used for disasters are located in public schools, as they are all over the country. At the time I remember being thankful for not having children in the Richmond City Public Schools.

Just another chapter in, as the city turns.

Re: “Friends Mourn Deaths of Activists, Guns in Tow

Why do these boys with their toys always think police officers are out to give them trouble. He is doing his job, get use to it. While the open carrying of a firearm is not illegal in Virginia, I just can't seem to put my trust or faith in anyone with a semi-automatic rifle slung over their shoulder. Their actions are perhaps doing more harm than good to the Pro 2A cause in a popular shopping area for families with children.
