Keeping It Israel

It doesn't hurt that the new face of Jewish music is young, hip and ready to rock. Jewish rock star Sheldon Low will help make the 60th anniversary of Israel's Independence Day, Yom Ha'atzmaut, an event that won't be forgotten by next Shabbat. Low, whose albums include "It's All Challah to Me" and "On One Foot" performs Thursday, May 8, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Weinstein Jewish Community Center. The celebration begins with dinner at 4:30 p.m., and children's activities start at 5 p.m. Israeli vendors will be selling Judaica items from Israel throughout the day. 285-6500 or visit www.weinsteinjcc.org.
