Re: “Staying Put

Thank you Ed. From all of us in Henrico County, we encourage Richmond residents to push for this land to be used 70 days a year for a pretty ballpark. It'll be our pleasure to spend $50 a year on the Boulevard in exchange for you spending 20x that in Short Pump.

Re: “Building a Compromise

Today-that is a great argument and one the community outside of Church Hill can get behind.

Re: “Building a Compromise

And lastly, I'm "dragging Church Hill residents into it" because the author of the article lives in Church Hill, just a couple of blocks from Libbie Park.

Re: “Building a Compromise

Let's be real: It's a neighborhood park for Church Hill residents and the vast majority of those opposed to riverfront development are Church Hill residents. Views five blocks away are not the neighborhood's God given rights. Pay for them. We're sick of hearing Church Hill complain.

Re: “Building a Compromise

How about a special tax district in Church Hill equal to the assessed value of opposed riverfront development? This allows all Church Hill residents to take "ownership" of their views by paying a special tax assessment while city residents get the tax dollar benefits of developing vacant land.
